rockstar life

i had the distinct pleasure of meeting this lovely family the other day, during their trip to los angeles.

although mom, dad and both babies were extremely sweet, i have to admit that i was somewhat partial to eleanor, who marched right up to be and grabbed my big finger with her little hand, and lead me around for a nice walk.... 

all the while keeping up a steady stream of baby talk.

today, i spent the day at a trade show for children's fashion, and totally fell in love with this line of amazing backpacks.

(btw. i usually detest backpacks. yes, even now that they are fashion-blogger approved.)

they're kind of designed for kids, but i think i might really want one. now.... which?

summer vacation

yesterday, a young friend came to my house for a visit.

her mom and i started to talk about "grown up" stuff, so we set her up watching some tv stuff, using my headphones.

she wasn't really excited about the photos i took of her, but i just couldn't resist.

it totally made me think of those boring days of mid-summer, when the shine of freedom has worn off, and there isn't much to look forward to, other than the next heat wave....

by the way- she made her dress herself. by hand.

the kid has a glorious future (in fashion?).
