done well

i really love this new york times article, written by alexandra jacobs.

first it reminded me that mickey drexler is kind of an evil genius, but a genius nonetheless.

then, it reminded me that as much as i might like to think of myself a some kind of writer on the subject of fashion, both ms. jacobs and cathy horyn just absolutely kill.

one of my favorite things about the nyt coverage of fashion is that it is pretty much the only mainstream publication where one can get real fashion criticism, rather than public pandering to beloved advertisers.
